Ductile Brake Rims
Since the ban on asbestos brake block in Canada, Our Ductile Brake Rims have been shown to be the solution for all non-asbestos brake block currently on the market. Ductile Rims are the most forgiving surface for all types of non asbestos brake pads. These rims have been engineered and shown to last at least two times longer than a standard steel rim with a hardened surface overlay. The ductile rims naturally cool at a significantly faster rate over steel rims, due to it's special chemical composition. Call to check inventory on your rig!
Our Expertise
We recommend to skim cut the rims after they have been sweated on to the drum and fully installed, All Rims have a tendency to warp slightly after being heated and sweated onto the drum, skim cutting the rims will true up the brake surface for a smoother and better braking operation. This prevents brake hop and perfect braking.
Finally after installation and a skim cut, We recommend to balance the drum on our Schenck Balancer to prevent vibration. Balancing insures smooth operation as well as long bearing life and good braking.
